Default Hacker A20-12XL Outrunner review?

Has anyone used one of these? I saw them at my LHS and thought they looked promising. They were a good looking size and have a 3.17mm output shaft, so they fit a standard pinion. I was thinking of using 2 of these in a twinforce crawler, one to the front and 1 to the back with 2 Quark 33s for front and rear dig. Just wondering about them, because $140 for the pair is an expensive experiment. Or if someone has a better suggestion on outrunners. Oh ya, i forgot to mention, it will be running a 3 cell Li-Po.

That motor is over twice as fast as what you want. Generally, you want something in the 1000 Kv range. That one is 2500 Kv. Check www.holmeshobbies.com. John has perfect motors for a TF. The only downside is that they are a 5mm pinion, but he will turn them down for you for a few extra bucks.

I believe he has some 5mm bore, 48P pinions on the way so you wouldn't necessarily need a turned down shaft.

The lower speed Hackers would work, but for those large tires I would suggest the 30 series instead of the 20 series. FYI the hyperions are the same as the hackers except the finish and nosecone.

The 20 series is much better suited to a 2.2 rig.

Thanks for the replies, looks like il be ordering some outrunners from Holmes, thanks again.
One other question, i think im going to be ordering a pair of Hyperion z3025-08's, will these obliterate the 2 pede transmissions i was thinking of running? And what kind of runtime might i expect off the pair and a 3 cell 2100 mah Li-Po geared more towards crawling vs wheelspeed.

I would use the 3013 or 3019 size can for a dual motor setup such as that. The 3025 is a bit more than is needed, and will just add extra weight up high. Runtime really depends on your terrain and how heavy your finger is. I have drained 3300 packs in 20 minutes before with a smaller motor on a shafty style build. I would give the setup 15-60 minutes for runtime.

If you want a faster or slower motor, you can also change the wind.
