Default Connecting BEC to ESC terminal With Caps

So I have a cheap Hobbyking ESC. 120amp

For our discussion this pic will do.

The terminals that the wires feed to also have pos and neg wires that feed to capacitors. I soldered my bec from the same terminals. Its direct power from the battery, but my bec died mid run. It had been abused for over a year and was working flawlessly until wired this way. No smoke or anything, just lost all power mid run.

I run my bec into my HV receiver and remove the ESC internal bec wire. My thoughts are that somehow the caps allowed some current discharge to flow into my bec. But the bec, which a castle unit BTW, is designed to pull current from the terminal.
Regardless, someone perhaps has more intelligence on the matter and can way in.
Bec gives nothing but a green light when connected to the PC.

So what is the question here or issue? That when plugged into castle link it won't link up? Plug battery in..... Castle link is trying to feed the esc.

I'm not trying to connect it to castle link, just confirming that that particular process Didn't work, due to the frying of the bec.

Bec = dead...

Why?

Because of the caps feeding too much current into the bec?

I doubt it has anything to do with the ESC cap, the Castle BEC can take more input voltage than the ESC and it will only draw as much current as the servo and receiver require.

I wire mine the same way with no issue, and I use alot of the hobbyking xcar esc's.

You never know with electronics, sometimes its just its time to give up the ghost. Plus you said you got over a year of abuse out of it.

Has nothing to do with it.

Thanks guys. I didn't think so, a year of water and mud, I expected it to die. I just didn't want to replicate the issue by wiring a new one similarly.
