Default loss of power when in bind???

BTW... I have searched... cant find topic.

My crawler stops (no power, esc goes dead) when it gets in a bind. If I lift it up, it comes back to life. What gives?

Thanks for the help.

Sounds like you're just stalling the motors when in a bind.

If you ran brushless you'd be breaking parts.

Also...how old are the motors? Are they in good condition?

Its when to many amps are put to the bec, it will stall everything.

are you running the big power cap that the super duty needs??
if not that might be the problem.

when this (loss of power) happens, the esc shuts down, no steer, no motors, no rear steer... nothing. Lift it up out of the bind and it starts working again.

I B.. Sorry, I'm green. What is the "big power cap"?

Sounds like the servos are stressing the BEC, and it is shutting down.

My brothers Twin would do simular. He wouldn't have to pick it up though,he could just give it a nudge and it'd be off again. He's running 8 GP3300 cells,Super Rooster, stock 27 turn motor and 2 Airtronics 359's. We first thought it was the new motor needed a break in. Ran it under water for a bit....nope,still done it. Tried switching channels......nope,still there. Tried 4 different battery packs.....nope,tried switching recievers.....nope. We added a reciever pack for the servo's and pulled the red wire....walla,runs perfect and has ever since.

yes, it does have the power cap.

yes, you can bump it and it will come back to life.

the reason I bought the $150 Super Duty is that it was suppose to run the 5645's with its 6 volt 3amps with out the need for a rcvr pack. Was this wrong?

It couldn't hurt to just try one. If I was closer to ya,I'd let you borrow mine to try it out. If you wanna wait till our get together on the 1st,I'll build another pack for you to try.

Hello.......anyone home?

Bind or no bind, sounds like they are doing the same thing to me. Same problem, same solution......swingy swingy duh

Since yours WAS working, don't you think maybe the BEC went out in the ESC????

It's not like your the only one thats had issues with the LRP ESC.

You should not need a rcvr pack with that ESC, I would go over all your connections battery bars and all, try another receiver if you can.

what will help also, I do this on my 2.2 reg rooster and a 94358 it stalls bad, so I use the Novak super power cap and plug it into the batt port on the rcvr. It helps alot.

Thats what I thought with my brothers as well. Brand new Super Rooster shoulda powered the servo's fine......nope. Sometimes things are faulty We probly could send our SR back and let them fix the BEC. Running a reciever pack is easier for us,so thats what we did.

He is also running 7 cells, kiss the 3 amps BEC goodbye.

All ESC's that I know of are rated at 7.2 volts input, not 6 freshly charged cells even.

This man speaks the truth... throw more volts at an ESC and the BEC amperage suffers.
