| brushless+water=???
Just wondering if anyone knows how much water a sensored brushless can deal with? Can they be submerged like a lathe motor? I have a novak crawler motor in my scaler and want to get it a little wet but don't want to let the smoke out. I have bashed it in some pretty wet snow w/out any probs but not sure how much more she can deal with. |

I know you can take the sensorless stuff in the water but I just don't like the idea of a $60+ motor getting dunked...

That is why I asked first. I just have not heard of anyone doing it.

I don't think anyone here has dunked a brushless setup yet. Let me know how it turns out. I got a Crawler System too.

The rotating hall sensor would probably get ruined, my intuition says. I have never tried , but I know they are pretty delicate. Sensorless would be cool though, but I agree about being hesitant to get an expensive motor in the water unless the water was clean. |

i thought they were first made for boats and planes? right? and isnt the mamba water proof so it would make sense that the system should be able to take some water, but what do i know?

the mamba 25, and I hear the mamba max is water "resistant". RC Bro ran his mamba 25 submurged with no problems and I have ran mine in snow.

I run my mamba-25 in a bucket of water Here's the video: http://www.rcbros.com/reviews/cc/Mreview.wmv Just make sure your spray the motor with some motor cleaner and lube the bearing now and again. Haven't had a problem yet. As for the Mamba Max... I was told it was water resistant but thats from alittle birdy who no longer works with CC. bummer! But i'll test it out eventually lol |
