Thats a tough one, the radio most likely has mixing in it for use in the heli, but it may be use able. The only way to know for sure is to find someone who has set one up, or get it to try and see if it works.

First thing you need to find out is if it is legal to use on the ground based on the frequency.

Even if it's not some can be modded to a ground frequency.

I tried that with that radio. The problem is the 4 in 1 unit will give you tuns of problems and doesnt really work .Plus that is an aircraft radio so it's on 72mhz not 75 or 27. Your better off just buying a 4ch radio.

Gah, I completely missed the frequency issue, I was thinking it was the new spektrum based radio out of the cx2.

If all aircraft start off on the groung why does it matter if it is a ground based frequency or not?

FCC regulations. Certain Frequencies are restricted for air use only.
They don't want you driving your r/c car around and have some unsuspecting R/C Plane crash because it flew too close to you.
