I'm not sure you can do it yourself, it requires changing more than the crystals as they are on a completely different frequency range.

You have to send it into the manufacturer.

Well i thought there were some electronic guys around here that might have tried.
Ive built radios from scratch just not in the rc world and was thinking about giving it a whirl.

I spent 8 years in the Army doing Secure Communications Repair, taught various electronics courses, taught the Secure commo guys at Ft. Gordon, lots of crap.

If I need my TX converted from 72 to 75Mhz I'm sending it back to the manufacturer. I have an old Futaba T6XA here that I plan to send back.

To me it's not worth the time and effort when I could spend a few dollars and have someone else do it...and still have it covered under warranty.

The factory techs will convert the TX and RX (or replace the RX) and tune the TX for peak performance.

You can but you have to call the manufacturer to get it. We ordered a Jr 9303 on ground freq, and with all 9000s servos for a guy at my lhs. it was going in his king tiger tank. Most times if you order it new there isnt and additional charge for it either

You can find radios that are set surface frenquncies for robots and some boats as well. Here is a link to a robot site that has some. http://robotmarketplace.com/marketplace_rc-radios.html.
