Default big time electronic troubles

ok so today i got my new esc installed and new gears for my 645 servo. i go and drive it everything is fine and dandy...so about and hour later i got to turn it on and the servo turns to the side and strips the new gears and when i reverse it goes forward...could it be that my controller batteries being wayy low could cause it to make the servo twitch and the truck to not respond right? im about to throw the damn thing at the wall any help would be appreciated
