TQ4 Problem with winch

I have been using a 4ch 27mhz traxxas remote for a while and now i have upgraded to a 2.4ghz tq4.
and now to the funny thing , the winch did work properly with all 3 ways when i used 27mhz remote .
But with the new 2.4ghz its only have forward and reverse , the neutral position have disappeared .

I hope you guys understand my SWEnglish , or else ask

Re: TQ4 Problem with winch

i don't know about the original 27MHz radios but on the 2.4GHz radio it doesn't have a true 3-position switch in it's stock config. it has the 2-position by the thumb and the other switch next to the wheel is actual 2 separate 2-position switches that are used for things like controlling the locking diffs in a summit.

you could get a 2-position winch controller from heyok here on the forum. otherwise you will need to modify your tx. i did it for my tq4 2.4GHz radio. pretty easy. the 2-position switch near your thumb is actually wired to be a 3-position switch already. what you have to do is open up the radio, replace the existing 2-position switch with a 3-position switch (a little wire soldering and getting a switch to fit in the hole) and you are all set. i believe there is a thread somewhere out there on this.

Yep, jebster nailed it, the switch on the 2.4GHz radio aren't center off, I found the same thing.
Theres some pics of how I changed mine on thread my Wraith build, just swapped in a 3pos toggle switch for the 2pos rocker.

Re: TQ4 Problem with winch

I see u fixed your issue already, but you can also simply take the three wires leading to the red rocker swith by the thumb and switch them with the 3 wires on the 3 position switch on top and bam there ya go no adding switches or anything and u have a 3 position channel on top now and the red thumb switch still works too only thing that changes is what channel works with each switch channel 3 was the red switch and channels 4 and 5 were the top switch. Now channel 3 is on top and the red switch works channel 4. Hope that helps
