Big brand name readily available, I'd say Futaba 4pl or Airtronics mt4 However, best Bang for your buck would be a Flysky GT3C flashed with a new firmware. I have one available at the moment in the classifieds or I'll have a handful on my website in a week. Flysky GT3C |

I agree that the 4PL or MT4 are probably the best quality and most capable options. I personally use an MT4 and havent yet found anything it CANT do. You can get one online right now for like $175 or so after discounts.

Check out the 4 sale section for a 4 pl. There was one yesterday with a receiver for 120 bucks.

MT4 for the win! By far the easiest to operate, easiest to setup, menu screen to read, feel of quality in hand, no antenna to break off, and child friendly. I know, I'm just getting my 10yr old set up with my old one. He enjoys the fit in his hand and I enjoy knowing the durability he is carrying around! (I'm also helping another father setup his 6-7yr old with one. He is finding it very easy to setup, with just us texting.. He just rebuilt his sons stock XR with a punk dig, to dual esc's, chassis, the works..) I've used (the MT4 I gave my son) and abused it for over the last 2yrs. Clashing with rocks, branches, snow, rain, 120° heat, hundreds and Hundreds of hours of use! It still works as it did on day 1... We all know, kids can put a hurt on things pretty quickly.. Do you want to save money now and buy a MT4 later or just skip the first purchase and go straight to the MT4? Lol.. |

I have had all brands of controller, KO Propo, Futaba, Airtronics, Specktrum, never tried FlySky....but I can honestly say I LOVE Airtronics, tough, cheaper, easy, 18 model memory, etc., etc... Buy used, you can pick up a controller with telemetry receiver for about 120 bucks or so...like this: Mt4 - R/C Tech Forums |
