Default Operating a servo w/o a radio?

How can a servo be wired to a 3 way switch and a seperate power source to make a self contained onboard winch system??

Well you can use 4 channel rf miro system. You can find them at http://www.bpesolutions.com/remote.html. They go up to 12 channels. So you could run winches, lights and what everelse you wanted too.

Have you ever use one of these? The options on that page are a bit overloading! They look like a much better option than a vehicle mounted switch, even if they are a bit expensive.

That would do what I need, but it is too big for the space I have.

Your best bet would be to get rid of the white/yellow wire on your servo, and then connect the red and black wires from it together, with a battery and switch in the circuit. Do you get what I mean?

It can be done with a DPDT switch I have done it before. But, I didn't like the vehicle mounted switch. When using the winch you want to be able to turn off the winch easy. Otherwise it can spool all the way to the fairlead or say the truck catches a ledge you break stuff if you can't turn it off fast enough. When the truck is moving it's tough to do.

If you wanted a truck mounted switch, you could make a wired remote just like 1:1 winches have. install a deans micro plug on the truck, and plug in the remote when you need to use the winch.
