Default TQ3 Radio/reciever problem

This is the issue. I am running a TQ3 radio/reciever and it appears the the reciever is going belly up. I am running a brand new ESC, lathe motor ans one high torque servo Hitec or BlueBird and a stampede tranny. The tlt starts running fine but after a while the reciever stops (sending or recieving a signal? ). The heat sink on the esc is barely warm and the servo is fine. If I let it sit for a few seconds the signal is ok and away I go again. Does this sound like a reciever problem; Radio problem or both? I'm only running front steer on my tlt and a 55t lathe.

Give it to me straight.

Help !!!!! I don't drink so I've got to crawl somehow.

Sounds similar to a problem I had recently, but AFTER adding an additional servo for the rear. My ESC was the issue.
What ESC are you running?

I'm running a Duratrax IntelliSpeed AutoSport forward-reverse DTMX1059. It runs great ultil I get into the 200oz + torque range with servo's.

Those duratrax esc have an auto setup, when you overload the bec it will shut off for a few seconds and "reboot", exactly why I will never use an esc with an auto setup again. Also if you are holding the throttle when it desides to turn back on it will set the throttle at neutral where ever you had the trigger at so be careful.

Your ESCs BEC rating is "5.0 volts / 1.0 amp" and your servos want more amps than that. (really 6 volts too)

You are overloading the BEC and the ESC shuts down just Like Kamakaze said above.

You never mentioned how many cells you are running... but more than 7.2 volts into the ESC means even less BEC.
