Default Hitec servo programmer

I've got a problem with a couple of my trucks. Since switching to a new radio, I don't have enough epas to max out my steering. My old radio allowed me to go beyond mechanical steering and of course I would set it just right. Now I've got limited steering with radio epa as far as it can go. All these rigs have hitec 7955 or 7950 servos. Will the hitec programmers allow me to set servo epa beyond what I should have and then limit it with the radio? Don't understand exactly how this stuff works, or which model programmer I should get.

I have the programmer but never had to mess with EPA. You can set EPA's thru the controller as well as fail safe points. There is a limit to how much "throw" you can get due to a mechanical stop within the servo itself.

I used the HPP-21 Plus programmer for my 7950/55/54 servos.

I believe you can set them to travel 180 degrees. Let's say I did that, would my radio now move the servo 180 degrees? That way I could set epas with my radio again...that's what I'm trying to figure out...

Can anyone verify that what I said in my last post can in fact be done? It's all I need to know before I move forward and order one.

Yes you can set the 79xx series to 180 travel thru the programer. Your radio will now recognize that as full travel and you will once again be able to set endpoints to the desired travel..

Have you checked your dual rates to make sure they are not turned down on the new radio ?

It's a Futaba 3pk and yes everything is maxed out. I was using spektrum dx3c before and was able to set epas to mechanical limit.
