Arrow Cant steer

Hi Ive got an emaxx and I put a hiteck 645mg in it. Lost the servo saver and went to direct conect. With a full set of batts is still dosent want to turn the weels un less it is rolling alittle. And yes I tried it in gravel. same deal. I am running stock tq3 tranmitter and reciver. could the recever not be delivering the jucie to the servo that it needs. should I just look at rigging up a double servo setup for sterring? If any one could help it would be most helpfull.

you most likely have the pivit balls to tight, or the stock plastic bell crank bushings are worn.

Ive been doing some reading on hear and I see some people are using seprate battery packs to help supply power to the servos. Is this something I should look into and What would work with a stock tq3 reciver?

you could also lose the shifting servo and put another servo there for the steering i run two 645's on mine and it will not bind up even when jammed on a rock it just pushes off of it. You will need one of the traxxas steering parts bags and it hooks right up and works awesome. i also run the evx control

Thats what My friends have done but they did a custome chassie so they still have the shifter. what they did is turned the tranney around so the shifter servo would be in the back. the thing is shreck has a txt1 with one 645 servo per stering setup and he has no problem at all. and he is running the 40 series with mohab tires on it.
If I do go the dual servo rout I thinck i will make a coustome chassie. I love second gear for ramping.

From those pics, It looks like you still have the stock servo saver, if so that is the problem, they are very weak. good luck.

Ya, I read the post it, was just hard to tell the way it was posted, and I didn't see the one clear servo.

y'all ask for help right??????????? I'm just throwing some ideas out there.

And if you lose the weak servo savers and put 1 good servo on, it will turn the wheels with no problem.

These are the most common problems

1- weak servo saver

2- tight pivit balls

3- worn stock bellcrank bushings

4- weak servo

5- radio settings (EPA or duel rate)

I have owned an E-Maxx and I currently own 2 T-Maxxs.

A 645 is just not enough servo to turn the tires when stoped

Size (L x W x H): 1.6 x 0.8 x 1.5 in.
40.6 x 20 x 38 mm
Weight: 2.1 oz. / 57.5 grams
Weight w/ Servo Wire: n/a
Ball Bearings: Yes, Dual BB
Metal Gears: Yes
Torque (4.8V): 107 oz.in. / 7.7 kg.cm.
Transit Time (4.8V): 0.24 sec./60°
Torque (6.0V): 133 oz.in. / 9.6 kg.cm.
Transit Time (6.0V): 0.20 sec./60°

even at 6volts its only 133oz

I also race r/c and most of us run 150oz servos in our losi race trucks, a big truck like that should have close to a 200oz servo

I use these in my clod crawler, for the money they have been working very well for me. BMS-630MG Super Strong Standard Size Servo JR/Hitec

Weight: 49 grams / 1.73 oz.
Size: 40.5 x 20 x 41 mm / 1.60 x 0.78 x 1.61 in.
Torque At 4.8V: 181 oz-in.
Speed At 4.8V: 0.17 sec / 60°
Torque At 6.0V: 195 oz-in.
Speed At 6.0V: 0.15 sec / 60°
Ball Bearing: Dual
Metal Gears: Yes
http://www.balsapr.com/catalog/Servos/bluebirdStandardServosView.asp?ProductId=U569935

hope this helps.

Sorry man i can't agree with that and Emaxximus can vouch for this i have the same 645 servos and i'm cranking moabs on 40 series wheels and the chopped up clod tires WAY SOFTER they had no problems..............and it don't have to be moving to do it.i too have raced trucks XXX-T's, T3's and have had 5-6 T maxxes on my maxxes i never ran the little black spacer on the steering shaft and it worked fine setting or moving ...........................there are some things the Emaxximus is leaving out the fact he has shot in his front tires is one thing, and this truck is anchient it had the 1ST gen TRAXXAS ESC before it burnt up on the rock pile the truck is one of the first built(before the recall)!!!

Shreck I took all the shot out of my tires when I got home last time and it still wont steer unless moving. AS for going crawling this weekend all depends on the weather.
If its nice then Hell yea.
