Default Futaba 4PV?

Any thoughts on the Futaba 4PV? What's up with that antenna?

Rotates and will lay flat across the front, much better than the rod on my 4PLS

It's Futaba so it's going to be good. It's the replacement for the 4PLS which has a huge antenna. This antenna is much better, but I can't believe Futaba didn't get rid of it altogether or at least made it fixed and flexible.

Do you think it needs to be extended when in use? Or can you leave it folded?

Is the telemetry functionality useful for crawling?

You won't have the best range with the antenna folded, but that's a Futaba, you'll need binos before losing range
If it's the same as the 4PX, you won't need to extend it in most cases

The only telemetry functions I find useful are motor temp and battery voltage.

I'm guessing it doesn't. I don't extend my Futaba, Spektrum, Turnigy, etc antennas and I've never had an issue. But it's just a piece that has the potential to break. Bad design on Futaba's part in my opinion.

Definitely. Temperature is always helpful.
