Default Pros & cons 35 turn or 55 turn

I have searched and asked before what the difference is between 35 turn and 55 turn motor. I know that a 35 turn is faster but has less torque. What I really want to know is how noticeable is the difference? I am building a scale/trail rig to do a little crawling and play in the mud with. I have a stock pede tranny and a 18 tooth pinion gear. Everyone seems to be out of stock on the 55 turn motors so I had thought about ordering a 35 turn. Any suggestions? Will a 35 turn work?

You will get more wheel speed from a 35t motor than you will from a 55t motor.

This will help w/ the mudding aspect.

At 0 RPM where an electric motor makes it most torque, a 35t and 55t make the same amount of torque, the difference is the wheels speed.

Let's say, close to zero rpm.

And the faster the motor spins, the less torque it makes.

But with a faster motor you can run lower gears which in turn give the same wheel speed with more torque and less stalling.

If your ESC can handle it, consider stepping up your voltage. By adding an extra cell or two, it'll give a high turn motor like the 55t some extra punch, without sacrificing torque by running a lower turn motor.

Ok thanks guys that is what I needed. I had a 55 turn motor and lrp esc back ordered from tower and I just cancelled those. I am going to order a 35 turn motor and put the 18 tooth pinion that I have on it and see what it does. If it doesn't have enough torque I can always play with the gearing later. I am also going to switch the lrp for a novak.
