Lightbulb Run a 3S light bar on your 2S rig

Just looking for thoughts on this.
Do many of you want to be able to run a 12 volt set of lights on your truck that is powered by a 2S lipo pack?

I have a prototype RC switch that will take 6 to 8 volts and let you switch on and off a 12 volt light bar.

If you guys are interested in this, I'll develop it further.

Thanks for your time!
Al

Just a basic step up converter?

Yes.... I bought a light bar not realising it was for 12v. I already have your dual output remote switch. This light bar will be paralell with another set of front mounted lights on one output of your controller. Will that have any affect on its operation?

Are you saying that you have two sets of 12 volt lights that you want to connect to your dual output remote switch?

I wasn't offering the step up voltage option on that part, but it could be done. I will PM you about this.

So do you have something like a charge pump that turns 6V from a BEC into 12V that would run the HobbyKing style 12V light strips? I've pondered sticking some cheap lights under the trucks for night time crawling and it would be very expensive to use 'proper' light bars and LED arrays for this purpose.

Awesome. What does one of these cost? Would it run a number of 12V lights (is there a load limit i.e. 10 std size bright LEDs etc) @ 6v?

I don't personally want to turn them on/off with my TX. Just on with the BEC.

These are all good questions.
I haven't worked out any maximums yet, but I would think about 300mA would probably be the upper limit. If so, if you figure about 20mA per normal 3 or 5mm LED, that would be about 15 LEDs.
