| Holmes Trailmaster BLE Pro - Castle Link required?
Yo! This is my first post. After about a decade out of the hobby, I dove back in headfirst with a Trailfinder 2 LWB kit powered by a waterproof Holmes Hobbies Trailmaster BLE Pro ESC. Planning to run a brushed Axial 27T at first. These instructions seem to indicate that I must use a Castle Link to correctly install the motor, specifically to select "Brushed Reversing" mode over "Smart Sense Brushless." I had assumed Castle Link was just a cool bonus feature. Is absolutely necessary to avoid damage or other problems at setup, or can I get by without? Thanks in advance! |

You DO need to set the motor to brushed operation but you don't HAVE to have CastleLink to do it. You can stick program it instead but it's a pain in the butt: http://holmeshobbies.com/downloads/d...structions.pdf Do yourself a favor and get a CastleLink, especially once you go brushless. |

Oh, duh. That whole, you know, second page of instructions. I definitely plan to get the link, but it's good to know I'll be able to get up and running for this nice three day weekend. Thanks! |
