| Old SCX10 with Castle Brushless Sensored Setup
After trying my luck with a couple brushed setups. I am going to go brushless... Its been a thought for a while. I am new to this stuff... I have a SCX10 Rubicon with alot of metal. I want to do 50% trail running/20% bashing/30% crawling... I would like to try a new castle setup out... Would the following suite my needs? Trying to stay around $200. Castle Creations Mamba X Castle Creations 1410-1Y 4-Pole Brushless Motor 3800kV I thought about running the ROC 412 3100kv(3s)/2300kv(4s) Stock gearing 20/87 My current setup is a HOLMES HOBBIES TORQUEMASTER BR-XL running a 21t Titan 87/23@4s... It was great but the motor wore out pretty quick. Didn't get hot though. |

We have been testing our upcoming firmware with an AX-10 with a 1410 3800kv and it has worked great for us. No startup stutter and tons of torque. Because of the high KV we have it geared 9/87, which works out well because it has a ton of holding power on a hill(Will not roll backwards on 45 degree slope if drag brake is set higher than 25%). Top end speed is a bit low because of gearing and only running 2s, but that could be solved by running 3s or by gearing up a little bit. Honestly I'd gear 12-14/87 and it should work great. We also have some lower KV options coming out soon in the 1406 size if you want a lower kv. |

Robbert Can I use the MAMBA MONSTER X EXTREME 1:8 Product #: 010-0145-00.... to run the 1410-1Y 3800kV? My second choice is the MONSTER X Product #: 010-0155-00...It actually recommends that motor but if the other ECS would work it gives me flexibility to go in another rig later. |

Also in order to use the Monster X, you would need to either build motor wire adapters or solder new bullets on to the end of the motor wires. The Monster X has 6.5MM bullets, but the 1410 motor and Mamba X have 4mm bullets. CC Bullets - 6.5mm | |
