i know that the esc gives the servos power. do you have a battery box made by traxxas? if you do put the batt box in the battery slot, then hook your steering servo to the throttle connection. if the servo works your recievers fine. if it doesnt, replace the reciever. idk exactly what the button does on the esc. maybe do some reasearch or look in the owners manual and try to find out what it does. can you tell me IN DETAIL the last time you drove it? did you go through mud, water, ect.

What you can do is suspend the truck in the air and switch the esc and steering servo wires so they are on different channels. Then turn on the truck and see if by turing the wheel your truck goes in forwards or reverse. If you truck moves, then your receiver is dead. If it doesn't then it's the esc. Double check the wires to the motors to see if they are cut or not. Breaking inside the wire is impossible to see. Did you get your esc wet?

It could be a connection anywhere in the circuit/battery. (the dummy battery side)
