| 18 volt drill motor?
Well i had a 18 volt riobie (Sp) drill was not being used anymore. :-P I was wondering what yall knew about these motors. I have noticed a alot of people running dewalt motors? I figured hey what heck mite as well see what it looked like and to me there is no differences. On the motor can there was a tag that says johnson and it has 2 sets of numbers on it (70002) abd (373455) Im guessing one is a part number but i dont know which one. Also how many cells should i run and what speed control will handle this motor? Any info yall have ide love to hear it. My plans are for it to go into a pede tranny with tlt axles. honestly im a little concerned that this motor will tear the hell outa everything. :? |

drill motors are usually of the sealed endbell type so i don't think that there would be any replaceable brushes for it.

Thats what i thought but i read on ebay on an auction that said it comes with rebuilt motors with new brushes so i infered that you could get brushes from somewere. I think these are pretty much toast :? |

Good luck with a cheap speed control there buddy, those motors draw some amps. Plus, to run it anywhere near rated voltage will take a robot esc ($$$). To put it in perspective, a 14.4v dewalt motor does pretty well in my X-Factor on 8-12 cells

] Well I am know thinking of running the12v dewalt because i cleanded the motor and it is so worn out it is not hardly worth using. [QUOTE]orange-appeal I have brushs for a 9.6 V Jhonson motor ! I think would be the same... Just took one apart to rewind and hope I can get a better endball for it. but you can have the brushs if you want, its not hard to take the end off, just pry the tabs up and remove, replace and bend them back. [/QUOTE Is the end ball what creates the slop in the motor? I would love to get those brushes from you but i need to make sure that i can use this motor before i waist your time. diesel72- what speed control do you run? |

You want to run a drill motor, on a pede tranny, on TLT axles?!?!?! I'm sure that will hold up well. Like I keep telling everyone... TLT axles are made to be small. If you want a big truck, buy a big truck! |
