| Here's some info that might help: Super Brain 959 Manual I didn't read through it personally to see if it answers your question, but it might. Otherwise you could always try to email them directly and ask the question:mrcsupport@modelrectifier.com |

I just got a Super Brain a couple months ago, it's been performing well for me. However, the first day I plugged it in it did the exact same thing to me. Every pack I plugged in made it show an "err" message. 2 pretty used Tamiya hump packs and 2 brand new sticks, same result. I unplugged it and did something else for a 1/2 hour or so, then plugged it back in, it's performed perfect ever since. One thing I did do different was clip both of the 12 volt leads to the wire so they were'nt touching each other. I'm not sure if this actually caused an issue, but they were just laying there together at first when I had the "err" messages. I can't say they were'nt touching, but I can't say they were either. They definitely were not the second time I tried it when it worked like it should. I have the manual at home, but it's exactly what adogg posted a link to. There's little to no explanation of what causes an error and absolutely nothing about troubleshooting. It's not much help. |

Yep... don't let the aligator clips touch each other. I use this charger and have for some time with good results. I did however allow the aligator clips to touch each other while in Moab, I could smell something burning, that MRC was smoaking hot & flashing ERR! Unplugged everything, allowed the screen to clear itself. Let charger cool down. Plug charger in, plug pack in, set charge rates... push start! Now, if I could get it to charge more than 4 packs in a row before getting too hot I'd be happy |

If you feel extra motivated sometime, here's an article on how to install a cooling fan... http://www.jeff-z.com/rcstuff/superb...uperbrain.html |

Mine also does get quite warm after 4 packs or so. I only have 4 packs right now so it has'nt been a huge issue for me. It's never shut itself down on me, but it has gotten very warm to the touch. Adding a fan would help I guess. Doesn't look too hard... |
