Are you referring to 18650-size cells? Even the amp kings can't provide as much as a small lipo, usually 8C or less. The big problem is internal resistance, a cheap lipo will be in the 4-8 mOhm range while a high-end 18650 will start in the 50-100 range. That means the more amps you use, the less voltage your esc/motor see (voltage drop). I do use them with my airsoft gun, which I think is a 380-size motor? A 3S of Samsung 25R's works for those smaller motor, but pales vs a 3S lipo. In a crawler a 2S would be feel like a 1990's 7.2v nicd. The other kicker is their price. You can get cheap 18650's but they'll have a hard time even in a flashlight. The good cells cost more than decent lipo's. |
