Default sidewinder3

On the motor side of the esc. Are there connectors to solder on the wire ends or do you solder them directly to esc. I am hooking up a hh torque master to it. And just not sure of the proper way to connect wires to esc.
Thanks
Monty

You need a set of 4mm bullets. Obviously, we recommend our set because it is what comes with our motors:
CC Bullets - 4mm

Any 4mm bullet will work, but we strongly discourage use of spring style bullets.
Do not use any that look like this: https://hobbyking.com/en_us/4mm-gold...___store=en_us

I suppose you could solder direct, but remember the other end of that connector is also soldered to the board. If that comes undone, you won't have fun. You can also scavenge the 4mm's from HXT connectors, but as stated avoid the spring-ring style.

Sounds like throttle isn't calibrated. I can't recall it exactly, but it will flash lights and act dead til completed.

So what's wrong with the spring style Robert? I need to get some and eBay seems full of the spring style only!

heat from current flow weakens them to the point of intermittent contact which causes arcing and more heat..just a poor design for high current flow

Are you in the US or the UK, or ?

Search eBay for 4mm bullet connector, they came up on the first page from USA sellers...

If you need to go with a different brand, AMass GC4013 is another part number, (they call theirs banana connectors in some listings, but they are the CC style - NOT spring-style...) and Dynamite sells 'em too.

They have a really low current capability compared to the other style, so they get warm and waste energy. Also they tend to get a build up of dirt or carbon or something in them after a while and then just stop conducting power. I've had them fail completely randomly and without warning. Using them on the motor bullets is dangerous because if one of them fails it could damage the ESC when it tries to drive the motor but can't.
