They claim 24v max input voltage and 12$, interesting...

Wonder how they would compare to the holmes Hobbies trailmaster sport 550 or Titan 550.

Maybe we now have a 4s / 5s option on brushed Bombers!

What would be the equivalent speed of a 550 21T on 4s? Assuming the brushes don't burst in flame...

For a 12t to be useful in a crawler they'd better have about seven stators.

I've had the Yeah Racing Hackmoto brushless system and it was really awesome. I crawled with it and then raced with it. I only stopped using it because I killed it, like a dumb, by accidentally reversing polarity.

It's a rebuildable sealed can guys! lol! The descriptions are all over the place for this 550 sized "540", I don't think they proofread very well.

The 35t should take 24v rpm wise, but if they didn't modify the brush compound on that model it will blow the brushes up pretty fast at full throttle. Brushes can either be tuned for low voltage performance or high voltage toleration, but not both. Stick to 4s unless you want to see some big sparks fly for fun.

Can the trailmaster sport 550 take 4s?
Just curious about the kind of power/speed it would output before dying.

All of my brushed motors will take 4s, whether or not it is officially listed on the site. As always, watching the heat and adjusting gearing accordingly is a good idea when increasing voltage.

I have this suspicion that anyone wanting 5-6s brushed is intentionally doing it wrong. He's not getting the speed/power a brushless motor could provide, nor is he going to have the finesse at low-speed crawling a good 3-4s brushed setup has.

I spun up a 55T 540 on 6S...it was rather nice....never really tried it in anger though, it did spin nice and fast though. Might have to revisit it again...

Where can we get these Hacki motos ?

I wish we could get the HH motors in the UK....I tried a Trailmaster 550 21T, it was superb till my Dads TRX4 killed it ( long story).

John...any thoughts on a UK distro ? Would love to try the puller motors in my brushless rigs....

In my research last year on titan 550s, I stumbled upon a power wheels forum, and these guys race their 24v power wheels with titan 550s in them. They say they last fine, but I believe it's because of the batteries. Less amps from the oem power wheel batteries then rc lipos. That's the type of crowd that should be informed about this motor, and the Holmes line

Yep, as per usual the marketing is not well-thought out.

Besides the incorrect "rebuildable" statements, the 12t is being included incorrectly as a crawler option.

Those should be reserved for use in your Traxxas Stampede, Rustler, Bandit, Slash, Rally, 4-Tec... anywhere the Titan 550 12t is used.

They'd sell a lot more of them if they clarified that in their product descriptions. RCMart shows them selling at $12.90 each.

Once I tried HH motors it proved to me quickly that 1) there is a difference and 2) nothing outperforms one of John's motors, so these just aren't interesting.

Interesting word. Another fine example. If I were marketing a product for the PRC I'd find someone fluent in Mandarin to write the narrative. Just sayin'

Especially for only saving $7 (or less with shipping).

I ran my HH 27t 550 on 4s for a few minutes and it didn't seem to complain. I considered making that my full time setup, but I liked the smoothness of my wp1080 on 3s more than I cared about the little extra power/speed running 4s provided. If the wp1080 could run 4s, that would certainly be the way I'd go, but I've tried, and it can't. My only 4s capable brushed esc is a hw wp860, and while it's not terribly notchy, it's nowhere near as buttery smooth as the wp1080. If you've already got a GOOD esc that can run brushed 4s, I'd imagine that you'd be satisfied with its performance, but if you're willing to throw down the coin for said esc, you're probably aware of the benefits of buying better brushed motors. I'm cheap, so I'm content with my HW wp1080, HH Trailmaster Sport 27t 550, and 3s.
