The 1080ESC can be adjusted to provide either 6v or 7.4v of output. Check the specs on your servo to see if it can handle 7.4v to maximize it's available torque. (it most likely can take 7.4v). However, you will also need to verify what the Rx you're running can handle. If it's the unit for the Tactic, it's most likely rated for 6v. So, if you run the 1080 at 7.4v it will cause issues with your Rx. If this is the case, this is where you would want to run a BEC.

Receiver can only handle 6 volts.

Bec can do 6v-7.4v at 3 amps.

Servo at 6v draws 2.5 amps, at 7.4v draws 3a.

Either get a Bec, or a new receiver. If you plan on eventually getting into something like a Mamba, then I'd replace receiver, if you'll stick with the 1080, get a Bec.

I use this exact setup in my bomber, I have 0 issues using the stock receiver on 7.4v from the BEC in the 1080 (the trx325 receiver that usually is paired with the TTX 300 is rated at 7.0v). If you stall your servo constantly it isn't optimal, and you should probably get a BEC, but if you just trail like me, you should be fine.

The tr325 reciever is rated for a max of 7v
The hobbywing is rated to output only 3amps at 6v-7.4v
The pm ds470 draws 3amps at stall at 7.4v

Based off your hardware and manufacturers recommendations you should set the hw1080 to 6v and you should be fine. If you want more servo torque from voltage the reciever isn't rated for 7.4v so you should install a bec.

You can run it at 7.4v until you let the smoke out, then it's time for mandatory upgrades.

Where do you guys see 7v on the TR325? Everywhere I can see, it's only rated for 6 volts.

Get a bec and a Holmes rx bypass, run that 470 where it wants. I run my PMs at 8.4v

It is, but 0.4v doesn't seem to bother it, I've ran it like this for months.

I also run my tr325 at 7.4v. The tr326 that come in the armas is rated for 8.4v, and will work with the ttx300
