| Traxxas BEC with Spektrum Receiver
I am in need of some advice. I’d like to upgrade my stock Traxxas TRX-4 Defender with the following electronics : 1. Spektrum SR6000t Receiver https://www.spektrumrc.com/Products/...dId=SPMSR6000T 2. Traxxas High Torque steering servo (Part 2255) 3.Traxxas BEC (Part 2262) 4. Castle Creations Mamba X ESC Do I need to worry about installing the Traxxas BEC? I am totally confused. I am also worried about killing my receiver / ESC. Thanks! |

I would not buy a Traxxas BEC. It is only rated for 6V 3A and is over priced for what you get. A much better BEC is the Castle 10A for less money. https://www.rpphobby.com/product_p/cse010-0004-00.htm I'm also not a fan of the Traxxas servos. Again, there are better aftermarket servos available for less money. That said, are you changing the motor? If not the HW1080 ESC is a very nice upgrade for $42 and works surprisingly well with the stock Titan 550 21T motor. Last edited by Inspector86; 12-30-2019 at 03:39 PM. |

Won't need an external bec with that esc. Why that receiver, getting a new transmitter? That servo is junk mate, don't waste your money. Why the Mamba X, getting a new motor? |

Thank you for the advice! Yes, a new motor came with the ESC. I picked up a Mamba X combo kit with a new Castle Creations 2280Kv motor. So, I don't actually need a BEC with my new Traxxas high torque servo? Sent from my SM-N976V using Tapatalk |

You neglected to mention that you already purchased the Motor/ESC combo and the over priced Traxxas servo.

| Re: Traxxas BEC with Spektrum Receiver No, you don't, but if you can return that new servo, you can buy a much better one. Or at the very least, save a huge chunk of money on a different one.

Thanks for the advice. Unfortunately everything is already bought. I'm just going to stick with what I've got. Looks like the Mamba X has an 8 amp BEC built in. That is plenty for my new servo. Sent from my SM-N976V using Tapatalk |
