Default Adding channels to radio

Spyker Workshop sent me this clip of a client using a Spyker snowblower -
https://youtu.be/YFYBZlj9HtY. The guy has some attachment to his Traxxas TQi 4 channel radio (see the thingy with the orange knobs attached to the radio) that provides 2 more channels to operate the snow blower. Spyker couldn't provide any details on this device so I was wondering if anyone out there has an idea what it is and where to get one from (haven't received any response from the guy using it). It would be nice to have 2 more channels on my TQi radio to operate things like a winch.

I'd say just buy a Flysky GT3C ($50-$70CAD) and get it hacked ($20ish) for up to 8 channels.

This guy really pisses me off, making insanely cool stuff before I get a chance to....

Seriously, I have been following the his work from the beginning, and having a 3D printer, is a project I'd REALLY like to take on. Sadly, with the number of projects I already have going, along with work and college, not going to happen this year.

His build threads for both the snow blower and radio are over on the Traxxas forums.

Much appreciated. That looks like the thing I want. The Flysky option is naturally also there, but I kinda like the toggle for diffs on the Traxxas radio instead of having to press buttons. Would the 8 channel Flysky receiver fit in the TRX4 receiver box?

The 8 channel rx is large, would not fit in my Enduros box,I think is the same size

You could try this receiver from DasMikro. Available from various eBay and Aliexpress vendors. Just Google DasMikro AFHDS.

You will also get hits for their nano receiver if you want to go really small and are prepared to do some work connecting it.

I made the radio expansion module and the snowblower and just registered here for first time. Let me know what questions I can answer for you. I had written a longer reply earlier, but for some reason they seem to have not been posted by administrator. Or I messed something up. Maybe those replies will still show up?

Anyway, I wired my winch to use the snowblower speed control today and it worked great. I want to create new knobs now that stay centered in the off position and are hard to accidentally twist on. Dont want the winch unexpectedly letting out line or tightening itself up to death!

The front body mount tower is high up on this truck as it is sized to support the axial mighty jeep fc body that I have fitted to this TRX-4. The body mount tower has convenient space for mounting a plate that holds the additional radio system receiver and ESC. I put the receiver inside a small box to shield it a bit from elements. I should make a sealed enclosure for it.

This additional battery tray at the rear of the truck is bolted to the frame and holds a couple of 2s batteries. Plenty of extra power for snowblower or anything else I can think of. Everything was printed in ABS plastic on a Prusa I3 Mk3 printer. Great 3d printer that is easy to use.
