| Servo dead already?
My stock servo on my scx10ii burned out in like a week so I upgraded to what I thought would be the best high-end option without going to crazy. I got a savox 1230sg and a castle BEC. I've been very happy with it so far after a few months of running it, however I just installed some mud guards to help protect my electronics and in doing so I gave my truck a quick clean up with a moist towel and a possibly slightly damp brush now my servo doesn't work.. Is this just a cruel joke because I have been running it in fairly wet/snowy conditions, could I really have just wrecked my servo from a wipe down? What can I do to test the servo or is there any way to repair it? |

Welcome to the forum! While I can't speak for everyone, I think I'm not the only one who has had disappointing experiences and short life with Savox servos. I abandoned them years ago personally. For your question I can only say waterproof does not really mean waterPROOF with servos, and moisture is not their best friend. |

Me and a friend got savox servos at the same time, his burned up first putting, OK must have been a 1 off but was funny to see him lose the plot as it was so expensive, couldn't send it back after he'd removed it and stamped all over it... Mine lasted 6 months. I only use power HD servos now for about 20 bucks, 20kg and waterproof, nothing is gonna last forever in water soni stay budget as I class them as a consumable. That said they do last a long time, and I'm submerged an awful lot. |

They're all water resistant; snow and an occasional dip shouldn't kill them immediately. If you want submarine proof I doubt you could find one that would not experience a shortened lifespan out of the box. RC Sparks on YT had a video on how to submarine proof them yourself with sealant, never tried it myself. If I want a submarine I'll buy a submarine. | |

Try bypassing the BEC. The older blue heat shrunk version does not tolerate basically any moisture on its board.
