| Newbi battery question...9.6V?
would one of those walmart battery packs 9.6v work? compatible with standard nicd quick chargers? thanks I have a TLT build with a moped ESC and 540 motor im asking cause the size is small, i just dont know what charger to run, cause the charger that comes with those things takes long and is really horrible. I wouldnt use it due to the low quality of the cells. It might work, but not well.

would it damage the esc? or the motor? can the esc (moped) be damaged with 9.6v |

WalMart packs are cheap for just that reason.. They're CHEAP... The cells aren't in any shape or form, proper hobby grade... It would work, yes, but not for very long... The MaH rating on a 9.6v pack is about the same as a cheap-o MiniT pack... You'd be lucky to get more than 10 mins on a 55t TLT that's barely moving... It won't damage anything... It'd just get real frustrating having to have 6 or more of them and to be constantly swapping them out 'cos they die off so fast... Runtime is a HUGE factor with these... WalMart toy RC's don't have anywhere near the load draw as hobby grade does... And with the shape of them, it's hard to get wires soldered onto the teeny little points as well as put them in a rig without some kind of mod to make it fit or sit still... |
