Question capra 2 cell 3300kv?

I logged in to this site this morning for the first time in over 10 years because I'm thinking about getting back into crawling a little. Not competing or anything ...well maybe just among a few friends.

I loved the dig on my old rig and am interested in portal axles so naturally I'm thinking Capra right? Is there anything else I should be considering with a "buggy" look?

I was looking through my old brushless motors and the lowest kv I have is 3300. I saw some people recommending 2200 on 3 cells. How do you think 3300 on 2 cells would work? I'd like to save some money by not buying a new motor right now and upgrade as I go. I realize I would have less power... but I'm more of a slow crawler anyways.

Anyone running a capra on 2 cells?

Thanks in advance

You aren't saving any money going 2 cell, unless you drastically cut your run time. A 3 cell 2200mah can be had for $15 on Hobbyking.

Higher voltage doesn't mean you have to go fast.

I'm sorry. I wasn't clear. I have plenty of batteries. I'm trying to run a 3300kv motor because that's what I have. It seems a good match with a 2 cell battery.

The 2cell because it is lower voltage creates a high amp draw when the low power stalls out, over heating motors. High gear and low voltage = hot motors. I don't have a Capra but you should gear it down as much as possible Imo then maybe 3300 on 3s.
