Default Mamba X programming

Hey, so I just set up my VS4-10 with a HH Puller Pro v2, 2200KV and a mamba x esc.
I watched the video on HH YouTube channel about esc programming and decided to follow his settings as a starting point, using the CC B-link Bluetooth connection.
For some reason, which I can’t seem to figure out, when I follow his settings, including the throttle curve, I don’t get any reverse. I hear the motor, like it wants to move, but it doesn’t. If I reset all the settings to default, works fine. I narrowed it down to the throttle curve alone causing it to not reverse. Any ideas why that would be the case? I didn’t touch the brake/reverse curve, just the throttle.

Yeah, I’ve tried it with every possible combination f reverse. Reverse power. And it’s still always the same. If I leave the throttle curve to default. Any reverse setting works fine. So strange

Actually I hadn’t thought of that! Was hoping someone had run into the issue.

Yeah contact Castle, this does sound like an odd issue.

I've never seen throttle curves effect reverse, although what does your braking curve look like? same as the throttle curve? I suppose if you set the brake curve as a flat line (at zero) you would have no brakes or reverse. EDIT never mind I see you said that you didnt touch it now

I think this would have no bearing as well but did you update the firmware on the mamba X?

Yeah firmware is up to date.

I’m going to re-do everything tonight and go line by line through settings again just to make sure before I email Castle. It still runs in default, would just be nice to get my throttle curve a little smoother. Thanks for the help so far, appreciate it!

Oh and also make sure the throttle end points and trims are all set to defaults on the radio.

Oh didn’t think about that...wouldn’t that affect running at default settings too tho?

Yeah if you got it working by switching back to the ESC defaults it wouldn't make sense. I just thought I'd add that because its something worth checking when weird stuff is going on.

Yeah I should probably get that for the pc just for the sake of having a fail safe way of updating and whatnot. Thanks for the heads up

Well after getting the castle link for my pc, I updated the firmware for the mamba x to its current release and that seemed to have solved whatever strange reverse situation was happening. Also nice with this version I don’t have to switch the power on/off after updating through the phone app lol. Not sure why the app wouldn’t update to this current firmware, but seems to be working now. Thanks for the input guys

There has been issues with the android app failing to send the forward and reverse throttle tables correctly and sometimes will just leave one or both completely blank resulting in throttle and or brakes not working correctly. We are working to try to figure it out.

Yeah I’m using iPhone, but that’s exactly what was happening. Throttle/brake reverse curve wasn’t being sent properly, or something along those lines. Strange. But all good now.
