Default What setup to use?

OK, I've got a crawler, works decent enough for now, but I want to make something more like a basher/trail/beater rig now. I'm trying to figure out what elecronics setup to use. I have nothing for it as of yet, and that's why I'm starting this thread. I won't need but a 2 channel setup (motor and steering servo) want to run either 6 or 7 cells, be able to spin some big tires (7"+) and be reliable and waterproof. The biggest thing is I don't want to spend an arm and a leg doin this (for now). I was thinking a CB servo should have plenty of power (and to support our venders) but as far as the transmitter/ESC I'm getting a little confused. I was thinking the MopedV16R should work, at least enough for this application, but I'm not sure it's waterproof. Could I just seal it with liquid electrical tape or would the heat be to great? Motor wise, I want to have enough low end grunt as to not stall out on hills when starting out, but a decent top speed (like 20MPH would be plenty) and I'm getting confused with the turns on motors. Let me know what you think!
