Has anyone tried the revolver 550 motor? A guy is selling them on ebay and claims they are faster than the integy 55t and have tons more torque. http://cgi.ebay.com/REVOLVER-550-CRA...QQcmdZViewItem |

No big deal - I'm not one to flame for not searching, I'd rather spend my time helping vs. flaming. That link is right to John's website anyway, it would'nt come up searching here. I figured if you want to try one, why not get it cheaper and support a site vendor at the same time... |

I had ordered a pair of those b&b axle snappers, and not even 30 mins ago told the guy to cancell the order becasue i have a few lathe motors i could use, is there a huge advantage to those ? I was gonna go brushless soon too, is it even worth getting a pair of those 550's ?

From what ive read, only running 7.2 volts to these motors they are painfully slow and dont have the power they should. They also have a much shorter runtime than the lathe motors.

They are rated at 30 VOLTS! Thats why they are so slow. I took one apart and unwinded it and I can't remember for sure but I think it was over 80 turns of some really light wire. I found for it to even start making power, I had to hook two car batts... then it was pissed. Certainly not going to run 24v on my crawler, I donno about you... | |

im sure on 30v a 5-pole 80t motor would be an "axle snapper"! but now being called a "revolver" on 7.2 your lucky if it does revolve!
