Default novak 5800 in mudder

i want to put my 5800 setup from my pede in a mudder i am gonna build. i am concerned about the muck and the esc mostly. it was pretty pricey when my lady bought it, and that would suck if i ruined it first time out. i mean mud to the headlights. how does mud/muddy water affect the bl motors? arent they pretty resilient when it comes to that? i was thinking a waterproof otterbox, but ventilation would be a problem? how should i go about water resisting or proofing my 5800? thanks in advance.

the novaks have the sensored BL motors, those you want to keep out of water. the basher/trail truck i build with a crawler system i was going to put a splash guard/duct for the motor so it would be waterproof to certain depths and maybe a fan too but i wouldnt seal it in somthing. then i just decided to stay away from the wet stuff though and didnt get around to it, might in the rebuild though.
