i would have to say it looks cool. but would it realy be worth that, you can get a modded tq3 from the crawler store for like 65, it works great and doesnt need a third arm to work. if you do get it, let us know how it works.

The UTQ3 is worth it, since it has a lot more steering options than then modded TQ3 from the crawler store. Just my $0.2.....

Yes, I think it will be well worth the $120, really worth it if I pick it up on Ebay, even cheaper.

I just got mine I tried it out just hooking up a couple of servos and checking the swing and it is awsome. you can make the back tires turn the same amount as the from at the same time. You make it crab walk or regular while doing this. Trust me I cant wait to convert my emax to use it Now all i need is some $$$$ to do it |

I like it-very cool design and very clever aswell. My only problem with it is that it might be too nice-I mean how many people are going to stop and take the time in a compitition to switch between all the diffrent modes. Well that and the fact that the simple litte togelswich will do everything that radio will do (with the exception of the variable rate rws in "mixxing mode") for cheaper and in a much more simplistic form. |

i agree with HighMark, yes haveing that many features would be cool, but, we are rock crawling, not show trucking it. i am happy with a modded tq3. but TO EACH HIS OWN. let us know how it turns out.

I posted this on another thread. I am the one who designed the UTQ3. I got the idea for this radio when my partner in clodmodracing, blade, was letting me run his crawler. He had wired a pot to run the back wheels. It took alot of time and much needed brainpower to run. So I came up with the UTQ3 after several prototypes. About the circuitry: I guess first of all, the nature of this mod is not adding a switch or pot to the existing wiring. There are about ten to twelve new components that do the job, including some integrated circuitry. It would be a challenge to remove what is done to these radios. If it were simple, I would sell kits as well. About operation: I crawl and I desinged this to work for crawlers. My favorite way to run the radio is to have the channels mixing (mimicing may be a better word). This way it drived like a 4WS truck. Then when I'm crawling with my front wheels pointing left and need to reorient the back wheels, I will flip the thimb switch and the back wheels will also steer left. I will also flip the switch back and forth, in order to wiggle the back wheels to find something to grab. The switching between normal and crabwalk steering quickly is the best. Think about that next time you crawl. Now in manual mode: THe operation is just like the cheap hack with the toggle switch. I included it because alot of guys like that option. The switch that is used though is a center return type, so it is also really quick. It is also easy to run the throttle, steer and rear steer at the same time with a little practice. I have a couple on ebay right now if you a curious. I plan on starting another auction in a couple weeks if you miss that one. Please post any question you may have and I will do my best to answer. |

I just did the hack rear steer to my tq3 I guess that is what it is called. I will just have to say that whoever thought that mod up should get the Pulitzer Radio Controlled Prize. never knew how much I didn't need rear steer until this mod. And how much I needed crab steering. Kevin |
