Integy says their lathe motors will work on as little as 4 cell up to 12VDC . so goin' by that sounds like they are ok all the way up to 10 cells . http://integy.automated-shops.com/cg...09107418708.67 I think most crawler guys run them on 6 to 8 cells .I hope this helps you .

The 7 didn't seem to last as long,But definately had more power and speed. It ran more like the 27 turn in terms of high speed and definately had more torque .Met up with MikeSSS,It was very nice to meet you Mike.I look forward to getting together at the next spot

Question clod pinion gear, 55t @ 10 cells

hi all,
i've got a similar question and figuered i dont need to make another thread for this topic:
Since i got my Bullhead a week ago and already did some sketches for my chassis i will have cnced, i was wondering which motor/batteries combo i will be running.
I decided i would like to have 45-55t lathes powered by 10 cells because i want the torque of the lathes but i also want some nice wheelspeed.
The only thing i'm not really shure about is which pinion gear to use.
Will i have decent speed with an 8t pinion or will it even be too fast?

I run a 7 cell 2500 mah A pack on my super with two 55t's, and it has plenty of torque...could use a bit more wheelspeed, but it's not bad. I get about 30-45 minutes of run time on these packs.
