Default TQ3 glitches and twitches

I've built my brother in law a crawler recently. Since its gonna be a while before he picks it up I've been "Testing" it. The problem is the truck twitches, lurches, and bucks. Is the RX too close to the Speed control?? They're next to each other in a box. Does the antenna routing affect anything? Brand new batterys in the TX and truck. Any ideas?

Antenna routing has a lot to do with glitching fro sure... Especially if the antenna wire's running along or even against aluminum of carbon fiber...

Both are electro conductive and will either aid in propagation of glitches or generate them as well...

Try lacing your antenna through a piece of cardstock, or plastic, then mount that to the chassis. Does your motor have capacitors?

Does that really matter that much? I just stuffed a pair of 35's on my Clod and only one had 2 caps on it... I haven't run it yet, but, if caps are that important, mebbe I'll put some on before I DO test it...

On a brushed motor, YOU NEED CAPS.

The brushes make and break connection as the motor goes around, this creates a interference signal that will cause your truck to glitch.

The capacitor's absorb the voltage spikes and smooth out the interference eliminating and radio interference

Bottom line, if you have a brushed motor, PUT CAPS ON IT.

Thanks for the tips guys, sounds like I need to carefully route the antenna and solder some capacitors on the motor.
