I don't, I run 1/10 scale servos and Super Rooster ESC with a modded TQ-3 radio from The Crawler Store.

Unless you got a Super Rooster, you need to. Crawling takes up a TON of servo juice, and you'll run into issues unless you have a Rx pack. Search for RX pack or something if you want to more know ;)

Default receiver pack

I will use one when I want more run time, but I will not for competition. I only a9.6v 8 cell 1800 MAH NIMH Zagi pack in the stick so I am lucky to get 1/2 hour.

I run them on my clod and my TLT. I have 2 servos on both. Even with a SR on the CLod it glitches so I have to run them. Here is a pic that will help if you decide to run them. If you decide to......do NOT turn the switch on to the Speed Control. IT WILL fry. When you turn the switch on or plug up the Rec pack, depending on which you use, it will power the receiver to send the signal to the speed control. I even cut the wires and shrink tape them off just so it doesnt get turned on by accident.

On my maxx, I run the servos directly off the 7.2V main pack (the pack has the reg deans connector and two hitec servo leads). But then again, I run 1/4 scale servos and these things are pretty thirsty!

One of these days people will figure out IT'S NOT ABOUT RUNTIME....the MAIN reason for running a Rx pack is to provide the servo's with voltage and CURRENT which MANY esc's out there cannot provide some provide servo amperage as little as 1 amp and on a half charged battery you are actually getting less than that!!!!

Have you ever driven a rig with two digital servos? Those little shits will cut your run time in half same with 1/4 scale stuff.
