Default Motors

I was just wondering what motors most people were running in there rigs. Lathes, Magnetic Mayhems, or stock cans? How are the stock TXT motors for crawling untill I can upgrade?

We (UTRCRC) are all mostly running lathes... And stock TXT motors should be fine.

the stock silver cans work quite well for general crawling and woods driving the only time you would really want the lathes is for competition crawling or if you get sick of having axle stall which if you run a shafty isnt a problem anyway the only differance is speed and runtime I used the stock motors for nearly a year and when I first got the lathes I thought the battery hadnt charged all the way they are that slow and honestly sometimes I miss that extra wheel speed but not to often

I have the stock silver can motors in my txt, but with x-factor axles and 9 tooth pinions. I feel that they are great, good torque and long run times.

Default lathe motors

If you can afford too try them all. If not the 12v 55t or 60t lathe motors are the most recommended motor for a crawler competition or otherwise. If you like to drive with some wheel speed than the magnetic mayhems seem to be be recommended.

Lathe motors will last a bit longer, exactly how much is hard to say. I run 1 lathe motor GD-600 @ 85:1 final. Wheel speed is a little on the slow side, but it has tons of torque and long run times, with one 2400 ni-cad I can run for a solid hour.

Determining factors are what size battery do you run, are you running dual servos, are servos digital, are you running an RX pack, what's your final drive ratio etc.
