IntelliSpeed = junk All a speed control needs is that little sticker that says '-Supa Roosta-' |

| Super Rooster!
The Super Rooster is the best most recommended speed control for our crawlers. Invest in the '-SUPA ROOSTA-' as the pimp put it and you will not be disappointed.

To answer your question, what you want is a BEC rating of 6v and at least 2-3 amps. Of course, forward and reverse, and depending on what motors you plan on running, a speed control that will either handle dual motors or a low turn motor. But if you run lathe motors, that really doesn't matter as they do not use very much current at all.

the reg. rooster is junk. it doesn't have enough BEC rating to wipe your butt the crappy EVX has a higher BEC rating than the rooster.you will need to run a RX pack if you want to run 4ws and you still may get some glitching. just save up and go SR. once you do, you will not look back. yes it's expensive, but since buying one, i will never own another |

What exactly is a BEC rating. I am assuming it is voltage output to servos and such. Does the BEC affect motor performance?

BEC is what powers your servos. The rooster has a 5.7v at .5 amps. That would be fine for a single, low torque servo. But most crawlers use dual servos, and high torque ones. The super rooster has 6.0v at 3.0 amps. BEC does not affect the motors. |

i run a regular rooster and a 6v RX pack, 2 55t lathes and 2 high torque servos. no problems. i may upgrade to a super later when i start cutting the wieght down, but right now it's cool.

I run the same thing as Vitimin J. No problems. I actually just switched back to my 22t Magnetic Mayhem motors and its great. But if I were to do it again, I'd go with a Super Rooster so I wouldnt have to worry about an RX pack. I've seen SR's go for $75-$80 used. I bought my regular rooster for $50. I'd spend the extra $30 or so to get the SR. |

More than likely you will need a RX pack. Your servos will work much better, and you will eliminate glitching in the radio. Again, 55t lathe motors will work fine with most any decent ESC. |

Servos drawing too much amperage combined with motors drawing amperage will shut down the ESC, so in a way it does affect the motors. I run a regular Rooster in The Duke with a 5645MG servo and dual 55T motors. It werks great.
