i was just thinking and thought mount a motor on each wheel that has a dogbone gong from the motor straight to the wheel. do you think this would work? |

Not likely. you would need some sort of gearing to make it work. But give it a shot and let us know how it works!

That would be interesting....no torque and an extreme high speed! Like he said, you would need to gear it down somehow, like a torque hub. |

You could use it for like a racing buggy or maby even a sand buggy that would be pretty cool.

You would never have enough torque, and the motors would run very hot if they ran at all.

That would take 4 motors and 2 esc's at the least what would be the point? There would be a 1:1 drive ratio and you would most likely burn up the motors in less that 3 minutes. And BTW moter is spelled motor.

I had been thinking of trying it with 4 of these, just lay them side by side and run dogbones down. Not a lot of power draw, you could probably run all four off one ESC, and the ~140:1 ratio makes for some nice crawling speed. I'm currently using two of these, running to the diffs in my MLST crawler, one powering each end. with the extra 2.5:1 in the diffs, they have enough torque to motivate 2.2 moabs on double narrowed traxass front wheels. but talk about S-L-O-W. http://www.allelectronics.com/cgi-bi...OR,_USED_.html |
