Default dual motors w/ stock esc?

does anyone know if a gut could wire two motors in series and not hurt a stock esc? i want to run two saturn 27t in my wheely king tuber. i read somewhere that the esc "sees" two motors wired in series as one motor but as a combination of their turns 54t. the article said that the two motors draw the amout of power as one motor so my thinking is that it will work. i have a jolt+ ( stock wheely king esc) and a novak XRS. if anyone has any info it would be helpful.

No, you've got it backwards. The ESC would "see" the motors as a combination of their amp draw, which would be half the turns of the motors (remember, lower turns equals faster motor, and more amp draw). So, you need to make sure your ESC could handle a 13t motor.

Good luck, The stock esc if you could call it an esc, is a POS. It shuts down with one 55t because of overheating. Do yourself a favor buy a good esc that can handle two motors.

If you wire two 27T motors in series the speed control will think it is driving a single 54T motor and the motors will run half the speed of normal.

I did this before on a Clod with an old school Novak Rooster. I think the XRS might be able to handle it but I wouldn't bother with the WK ESC.

Please read the bottom left corner of the page here:

wiring in parallel will result in more speed less torque, series is more torque less speed. the reason i wanted to try it is that tower has my 55t on back order forever and i need to do something. my tuber is kind of heavy so i need more torque (and more gearing). i just read this article about wiring dual motors and it made me think. thanks for the input i'm going to try it anyway and see what happens.
