Default DX6 Help *un-mod left stick*

I bought a DX6 with the left stick modified to return-to-center for a crawler.

I've decided to stay with my wheel radio for crawling.

I'd like to return the DX6 to it's stock configuration to use on my

RC Heli...can someone tell me what I'll need for the un-conversion ?

Thanks for the help

Larry

open it up, it should be pretty obvious how it was modded (a small spring in there somewhere, i assume)

There's actually a mod thread here for the DX6 - I think reversing the procedure should work well. When you de-mod it, can you send me the parts? I'm having trouble finding the spring/return cam to use on my DX7

I've read the DX6 mod thread...it just doesn't tell me what (or, if any)
parts were removed for the mod.

step 1-- remove the back of the case
step 2-- remove the 4 screws that secure the gimbal to the front of the case
step 3-- remove the 2 countersunk screws that hold the throttle POT to the gimbal case

step 4-- carefully remove the the pot assembly, the spring and cam assembly should came out as one piece. remove the cam and spring and reassemble

the dx6 has a pretty simple gimbal setup, I'm not 100% sure if the dx7 uses the same ones, but the return spring should be the same or really similar, the cam may be different, when i make mine I used 1/8 lexan which you can get from a glass shop for next to nothing, alot of times they just throw pieces that small away. and the lexan is much more durable than plexiglass or other plastics that thin

mod power at work

noon@this- i almost forget, once you get the gimbal back together there is a flat spring that goes back on the ratchet to hold the throttle in place,on helis people like to put it on upside down so that the V groove is pointing up and the stick move smoothly.

to ID the piece it should be about 1" long with a v groove on one end and a hole on the other, if you look at gimbal there is a rounded part with grooves in it and above or below, depending on how you're holding it at the time, there will be a post sticking up, I think you can figure it out from there

Thanks again slobin3d

That is just the type of info I was looking to get...knew I'd have my best
chance if I posted the question on here.

I have tried to get the springs and cams from the manufacturer, but they are very tight with them for some reason. I have been on a search to convert mine to self centering. The interior replacent parts would be good to have.

I tried to get them as well, and they told me that they would not sell internal parts due to "liability". I told them it's my radio, I can do what I want to it, but that didn't help my cause. Thet won't budge. I would love to have factory components and someone to solder my voltage regulator in.

I have just purchased a dx 6 as well and I called tec support, to ask a few questions . One of the questions was about the mod for throttle and I mentioned about all the posts here for the mod and all the different answers, he told me to just flip over the notched plate , that is is smooth on the other side and that should work fine. I need to open mine up to see for sure my self but what do the guys who have taken these apart already have to say?

No "notched plate" on mine (that I could find) Put it back
together without and throttle seems to work fine......

Still need to take it back apart though....maybe this weekend
