| What servo to use?
I`m trying to decide on a servo to use on my X Factor bashing truck. I want to use the stock servo mounts and bumpers for protection. I will be running a set of swamp kong tires mentioned in another thread in variable terrain that will consist of mainly mud and hill climbs. My idea was to use an XTM Mammoth servo with metal gears and 175 oz.-in. of torque but someone advised against that so I would like some opinions please. (PS: I don`t care how fast or slow they are.)

I don`t think he said it was that particular one but he could have. He said 2 of them only lasted about 15 seconds for him.

I have 2 of the XTM X-175 servos in one of my crawlers. They've been used and abused (and abused) for over a year now, and are still working great. I know there is a lot of bad word-of-mouth out there about them, but I personally have never had an issue. The X-175 servo is a bit larger then a "standard" servo, however, so you might need to make some adjustments. If you're looking for a resonable "standard" size servo, the HiTec HS-645MG is also great. Hope this helps! |
