Default Spektrum interference issues at Nationals

During Judging on Course 2 at the nationals We noticed many instances of interference between Spektrum radios. I have talked to the tech department at spektrum today and they said they have never heard of any issues in the past.

I counted 4 instances during the runs and as soon as the other spektrum radios where shut off the issues went away

I also noticed it was the DX6 having the issues when a dx3 (pistol grip) was close. The interference did not appear to be between DX6's or add on spektrum systems but with the spektrum dx6 and other spektrum radios themselves.

What issues have you noticed during the Nationals or in the past? Post up the techs at Spektrum said they would be watching this thread

Who else saw this happening? You told me about it, but I never saw it happen, nor have we experienced anything like it at our local comps. We have a bunch of people running every kind of spektrum made for every type of radio.

How could it be an issue only on course 2?

I've used my DX6 several times with other Spektrum users to include multiple DX3s and never had an issue.

The only time I've seen issues with Spektrums "failing" the problem was found to be that the BEC circuit couldn't keep up with current demand from servo(s) and the RX lost power.

Tye had issues as did a few others.

we did not figure out what was going on until after Tye had his issue where he took a repair to try to fix the situation

Had a group of guys around and witnessed the issue with atleast one rig and as soon as I yelled to some guys behind us to turn off the dx3's they had the interference stopped.

I do know that AZvader has had the issue in PARC events also, with his DX6

I saw it happening. I suggested to rebind the radio, don't know if it worked.

I also saw issues similar at RCX, there was a lot of spektrum radio systems out there.

I didn't see that either, hmm. I do know there was alot more signals than just spektrums riding the airwaves at RCX. Come to think of it I did have a similar issue at I hobby last year that was totally gone after I got home. I'd think that it has more to do with the overall amount of 2.4 traffic than actual interference from another spektrum system. Remember that HUGE tower on one of the next hills over?

I saw Spektrums having issues, Ty was using my old DX-3, I seriously doubt it was because of other radios interfering though. I have used it for years and never never have had any issues running at races or at any event. My DX-6 never missed a beat either, it's all in the setup I believe.

I had this happen to me a few times on cars and especially on a electric Revo I built a BEC eliminator did wonders. I at one point had the older DX3 radio and it had problems every time it got to a certain point on my street(passing a neighbors house). I got them to unplug their wireless router one day(2.4ghz) and it worked fine when I would go past their house. It also would not stay bound with the receiver. Every time I would turn the car on I would have to rebind it. Recently I have switched to a new DX3.0 and have had no problems with the neighbors house(they still have the same router in the same place) or binding isuses.

How is this happening?

Two trucks one radio. He was driving the cherokee then plugged in the titan.

Yeah they get nervous I noticed when my brother and I would drive to close to each other. Spektrum rates kinda low on quality for me anyways old technology with the older dx-3's. Scaler radio nothing else.

No problems with Nomadio.

Thing is, how many of the guys out there were running a spektrum system? I heard there's max of like 75 channels on 2.4ghz.

Many people had them, but only a handfull were turned on at any given time.

I am still using the old FM, but I did see what rockwerks described at course 2. Where some guys were driving behind the course and when they left, the driver had no more issues.

I did have a few times that mine acted up. It could have been just me though. It was my first time running a DX3 and the 3rd channel is quite uncomfortable to me.

Well this pisses me off!! The whole reason I paid for the 2.4Ghz technology is so that I don't have to worry about this.

I didn't have any issues while I was running or while my daughter was running but if there are interference issues then it would seem 2.4Ghz doesn't do what it claims.
