| !!!! servo !!!! rear Steer!!!!!!!
i cant figure out how to get my rear servo in my clod to reverse... i cant reverse it on my radio cuz then it will also reverse the front, i need to keep the polarity normal in the front and reverse it in the rear. i tryed just changing the servo's motor wire leads but then if i do that and plug it in the hole truck shuts off..... i dont get it..... |

You can't plug the servo in backwards or change the wireing, you need to but a servo reverser: http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...3&I=LXAFN2&P=K |

i dont understand why you cant? why cant i just take the motor out and reverse it? you cant take your regular motor and put the polaritys how ever you want why not a servo? same thing almost a motor the turns a few gears. could some one explain why i cant do that?

I'm pretty sure you can reverse the motor wires. I doubt if Kamikazee would have posted up a how-to if it didn't work. My guess is that something got shorted out when you soldered things back together. |

I'm sorry,I didn't mean you CAN'T,I was just saying you should just buy a reverser,If you have the knowlege and abilty you can do anything. But if you want it back right later wouldn't it be better to be able to unplug something

Read the how-to again you have either changed the wrong set of wires or done them in the wrong order. Tupers

i have many servos to spare, so if i ever decide to pull it out oh well ill just put it in a box and forget about it proly.......and i see no point in buying everything for the truck when the part i love about crawlers is the ablility to make almost anything i seen a sig the other day that said crawlers are built not bought and thats how i see it...but we all have diff opinions. im going to try again on another servo maybe this one wont go poof |

That is your problem. To reverse the servo you have to follow my how to. Under no curcumstances should the 3 wires that plug into the rx be changed. Think about it like a esc and motor combo. The servo just that, a small esc and motor. If you reverse the red and black wire it is the same as reversing the battery leads into an esc and expecting it to reverse the motor.........instant smoke. Now what I did to reverse a servo is changing 2 important things. The 1st thig was the motor leads off of the small esc inside the servo, the same as switching the leads on your motor, after the esc, not before. This changes the rotation of the motor. This is only half of the solution to getting the servo to rotate the opposit way. If you plug it in now........instant smoke, because the POT still works the other way, so when the servo tries to get its position the motor will go the opposite way fighting itself till it smokes. To fix this you have to switch the 2 outside leads to the POT, this corects the signal so the servo can tell the motor the correct way to go. NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER try to switch the polarity on the servo leads unless you want your servo to be a gear donner.

This is what I use, can't beat the price for the time involved in switching wires. http://www.horizonhobby.com/Products...ProdID=EXRA325 |
