Default Glitching Question...

I had issues before where I lose forward and reverse but still have steering.. I originally thought it was a the motor so I put in a brand new 55t, worked for a bit then same thing.. Then I thought maybe it was my ESC, switched it and same thing.. So I put in a brand new esc.. Same issue.. Thought ok, maybe its the reciever, put in a brand new reciever and controller... Once again same issue.. The only thing I havent changed is the servo... Im wondering if the servo could be the issue? Anyone heard of this or have it happen?

Sound like a BEC issue to me. Does it crap out on you when you try to steer or is it just random? If you're running a mongo digital servo, it's a good chance it's overloading the BEC. Details will help, like Slickrock said...

55t motor.. Tried 3 esc's, a super rooster, a LRP AI, and a Novak something.. servo has never changed.. hitec 645.. Batteries are 7 cell gp 1400mah.. It happens randomly, not always while steering.. I have tried a bunch more stuff tonight since my post and when it happened again I wiggled one of the leads off the brush on the motor, it worked again for 2 seconds and stopped. so dunno if the motor is a dud or what..

Try disconnect all your servos and see whether you can go forward or reverse. I think your servo is robbing all the amps. Super Rooster (not Crawler Edition) and LRP have very weak BEC

One buddy suggested running the motor in a glass of water at low speed to seat the brushes.. Could that possibly be the issue? Is it needed to do this to new motors? Ive never tried it before...

That's an old-school motor break-in technique. The water provides a little resistance and cleans out the loose brush material as the brushes wear in. Not exactly necessary with these lathe motors, but it wouldn't hurt. Make sure to hose it down with motor spray afterwards. But if your problem was occuring with both the new and the old motor, it probably won't solve the issue.

Might not be the problem, but mine was doing that and I tracked it down to the atenna so I moved my reciver and atenna to a different spot and it solved my glitching issue.

Have you tried to run the motor direct from the battery?

Sounds like antenna placement issue. How is your antenna tube ran?

I'm definately no expert on electronics, so I'm just going to put this out there. Could it be a problem with a short in the antenna? I know the covering on them is not very strong at all and it may have ripped or the wire be pulled apart or pulled out of place where it attatches to the circut board in the reciever.
