Talking lathe motor questions?

I was wondering what the lathe motor had in it, bearings or bushings and if it had bushings can you put bearings in it or not. And another thing are the stock brushes any good power wise?

Please and Thanku

at the crazy speeds the lathe motor runs at, i cant imagine that the bushing vs bearings issue would ever come into play

There are bearings in my Eagle lathe motors, and the stock brushes are doing just fine.
