| Stealth X Transmission Noise
On my element the transmission is very loud and jerky in normal orientation - this is with stock or Overdrive. I flipped the transmission without changing the inverse top gear and it was buttery smooth, best driving truck yet. Issue was with stock setting there was slight Overdrive in the rear now. Didn't even hurt performance I went ahead and added machined gears and put orientation back to stock, and it's horrible. I just ordered another Stealth X Gearbox to see if that makes same noise. Also ordered inverse gear so i can see if reversing with correct settings will help noise Any one have experience with this? |

My spur gear was being put "out of round" using the stock plastic hubs, to the point you could easily see the spur wobbling on the shaft. The aluminum hubs fixed the issue. In your case it could be a bent stock top shaft.

The new Stealth kit came in and I went ahead and put it together, its much quieter but still not as smooth/quiet as it should be. Maybe its normal and i never noticed it early on with the Enduro. Tomorrow Im going to install the inverse top gear on the original Stealth X Box, see if its just as buttery smooth as before. | |

Update New transmission drove very smoothly. I approve! To my eye nothing looks bent on old transmission but im replacing all bearings and running it reverse with inverse top gear. |

FWIW mine was very loud at first but has quietened down significantly over a few hours of run time. I run overdriven gears with the kit trans.

My RTR has been pretty quiet. I've got all the hard plastics and transmission upgrades, not installing them until MST releases the J45C Toyota body - then an upgraded rebuild and electronics upgrade will go underneath. Interested in if the gearing will remain smooth... |

Okay so the new Stealth Transmission I am using in my enduro is still doing pretty good The original transmission Is now in a new build and sounds horrible still with all new gears, bearings and inverse shaft to run reverse. Only thing I didnt change at this point was the housing - Maybe tolerance got messed up or warped plastic? |
