Default Ocm / Gc-1

Here is the latest evolution of my OCM.

I am not done testing it out yet, but the preliminary results are pretty impressive. I am still experimenting with the spacing on the uppers at the axles and the lower lengths. For the uppers, I am adding and taking away spacers and the lowers are axials that have been shortened. When completed, I will make links the correct lengths. Oh, and trimming the body posts and clean up the wiring.

Ride height is at 3.75 for now (it can go to 4)
Wheelbase 12.5
Width 10.125
Mamba Max
Integy 55T
Ballistic Batteries 2c 1500 mah
Futaba FASST
Dig Switch ala Rizzo

How is your COG? it has to be pretty high, at a belly clearance of 3.75 WOW! The gatekeeper chassis with the OCM axles though, is a great idea.

The COG is very low. It will stand on its side and has to be pushed over to fall. Most all of the weight is below the tops of the tires.

That, combined with no torque generated from the chassis makes for an interesting drive. It seems to hug the rocks without any real adverse affects. The geometry on this chassis is far better than stock.

Man I need to get me one of these... Looks good. How much room do you have between the Knuckles and the Wheels?

Looking GREAT David!!!!

Out of curiosity, what is your belly clearance compressed?

Coming up one hole on your upper links may help the geometry just a tad without hurting your front caster much.

Just got back from a comp with the new chassis.

I am very pleased with the performance. It handled more solid and provided much more predictable performance. Most all of the swing and axle steer is gone and it overall is even better than I had anticipated.

This week I will work on finalizing the links and post the lengths that I end up with.

This is a definite upgrade to the stock OCM chassis!

My trip down south was worth every mile I drove!

Nothing like going to where the better drivers are to gauge your performance. I learned so much watching you guys and putting that in practice will make me better for sure. Getting to watch Austin, even though he wasn't on his game, was worth the trip alone.

Many years of racing taught me, you gotta get out of your comfort zone in order to get better.
